What was the trending decor in the year 2019, and what will be trending in 2020 and 2021

Ultra trendy floral overheads
Ceiling architecture and large creative suspensions mixed with oversized chandeliers and lighting is certainly a trend here to stay. Hanging dramatic floral features above the table and or creating a dancefloor underneath clusters of flowers is a showstopping wedding trend that will carry on in 2020 and beyond.

Luxurious lounges relaxing in style
Whether its for the cocktail hour or as part of the after party luxurious lounges are a style must at any modern wedding. The ongoing trend is to mix comfort with contemporary elegance and styling relaxed and super-chic lounge pockets in or outdoors.

Bringing nature inside luxurious greenery
Simultaneously greenery and massed natural foliage continue to be a strong favourite keeping spaces luxurious yet simple and blending the indoor and outdoor. Gorgeous greens are often contrasted by impactful lighting and become ultra-luxurious when mixed stylish custom lighting.

What is the colour of 2020?
We are seeing various colour trends Vibrant and bold or moody and monochrome Black and blue have made a strong comeback as well as bold, vibrant colours. Contrasting darker and moody shades have replaced the more traditional soft and neutral palettes. Bold is beautiful!

Can you list us 3 weddings close to your heart and why?
These would be three of our own celebrations we hosted over the years. A marquee on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe with a large family of elephants swimming past and an amazing setup we created quite literally only meters away from the world-famous Victoria Falls.

How is the COVID19 impact, when will the industry pick up?
The global pandemic is impacting our industry and business greatly and we will all have to think strategically, cut back expenses whilst remaining positive, encouraging to our teams and innovative at the same time. We are using it as a time to remain empathic with our clients, being available as sounding boards for our industry partners and also ramp up our marketing efforts. I am positive the industry will start picking up in the next 3-4 months.

What is the vision of the couple 2020?
No more one-day affairs! Spending a lot more time interacting with ones wedding guests means multi-day celebrations are on the rise. Enjoying a long weekend together with guests from near and far allows for the inclusion of many different venues and a buildup from relaxed get-togethers to more formal dinners. Think personalized excursions, informal lunches, special cocktail nights and post-wedding hang-over BBQs.
Luxury remains ultra-personal. We are also finding that the focus when wedding planning is less about flamboyant designs and much more about individual interpretations of the idea of luxury. It all about being highly personal! This can be found in the smallest creative touches like customized stationery designs or extend as far as a fully tailored 4-day wedding experience.
Intimate is in! Smaller, more intimate destination-based celebrations are on the increase without letting go of extravagance, exclusive details and gorgeous, luxurious venues. Increasingly we are sourcing chic and highly exclusive private villas, exclusive wine estates or safari lodges for our clients that are all frontrunner locations for smaller celebrations - with a true focus on the stylish intimacy they allow for a whole wedding weekend.

There is no one style I have set my heart on - but rather a chic and effortless interpretation of what our clients are hoping to achieve. I love modern contemporary celebrations with considered creative touches. Colourful and vibrant!
I also am passionate about immersing our guests into a truly South African experience. Incorporating African entertainment acts and soulful performances, designing a culinary journey with local ingredients and connecting everyone to the beauty of Africa is at the heart of our service.
