Haldi Theme

Splashes of Yellow and What not!!

THEMES FOR HALDI CELEBRATIONS

Haldi is turmeric. So, the first thing that comes to our mind for the Haldi ceremony theme would be the colour yellow or the smell of turmeric etc. Haldi or turmeric cleanses and purifies the body, with its unique and spiritual fragrance and haldi ceremony is followed in many cultures and across nationalities. For instance, it is celebrated as Pellikuthuru and Nalugu in Telugu weddings, which means making of the groom/making of the bride.

In Tamil weddings, the haldi celebration is called Nalangu or Nalungu. Haldi is also followed across religions. Wait a minute, it is not necessarily a monotonous ritual and you can have the fun part too! There are extended haldi rituals that resemble mini holi celebrations with splashing of colours and water over the guests while conducting games. Some of the best action photos are taken during the haldi ceremony.

The haldi function is not the exclusive domain of the bride alone. The groom has his own haldi ceremony, with his own haldi decoration. In telugu weddings, it is called the pellikoduku function, which is the groom haldi ceremony. More or less the celebrations are similar, with the close relatives and friends spatter the grooms cheeks with the auspicious turmeric and finally the turmeric water is splashed amongst the guests for wild fun.

The sample haldi theme shown in the top banner shows a row of cabanas, designed using a yellow and blue combination to create a bright and colourful ambience for a boisterous haldi celebrations!

YELLOW AS HALDI FUNCTION THEME

What can be a better combination than yellow for haldi theme ideas? The colour yellow blends with almost anything. It also elevates the atmosphere and creates a bright aura around it. In certain events or rituals, we always try to match the Decor with the kind of ritual item used. Well, in this case, I am talking about Haldi. As you all know, it involves a lot of Turmeric and splashes of Yellow. When it comes to Haldi, you can have Yellow themed decor as your haldi function theme.

For the yellow decor as haldi ceremony theme, your haldi theme dress could be a complementing colour such as bright green, blue, white. White, pink and peach or grey are also suitable as your dress theme for haldi. Since the haldi look for bride is very important, it makes sense to spend some time as family in choosing the right attire for the session.

A Floral Haldi

If you are someone who loves to do things unconventionally, then I recommend a completely different style as your haldi function theme. You can incorporate a full floral haldi theme with exotic flowers.

Colour Play

If you want a twist of colours along with flowers, then go for a bright combination of colours like teal and yellow, for haldi ceremony theme and use some rose petals and make an amalgamation of "some beautiful shades!"
