Aparnaa Nagaraj, CEO of Backdrop events who is super passionate about? all things art, flowers and colours shares some of the handcrafted wedding experiences.
We get involved in details like hand paintings, thread works, bringing specialised craftwork, adding intricate patterns, old authentic artwork etc. We also plan designs according to the bride and groom like adding their favourite bird or flower or a design which symbolises their love, so they feel the warmth when they get into the stage on their Big Day!
Aparnaa also talks about the upcoming trends At the beginning of this year, flowers were a huge hit as always. And then mirrors and metals have played a major role last season. Recently the old cultural crafts have also been trending.
Interestingly, Marriage Colours has worked with Aparnaa in Coimbatore on a niche project, we loved their floral display of work and the attention to details with the personalised handcrafted props which were part of the backdrop.
We often dont see fruits or similar on decor displays but Aparnaa Nagaraj says We use everything to try out some interesting combinations depending upon the availability and budget. Flowers like rose, carnation, tuberose, cocks comb to chrysanthemum, orchids can be used with a traditional touch in colours. Not only flowers, but we also use turmeric bulbs, fruits to give it a traditional touch.
