Thank you Gifts
Thank you Gifts
A Gift that Says Thank You for Coming If you are planning your wedding, you would have already scoured through millions of websites to find new ways to make it special and memorable. There sure would be a number of dos and donts that you have considered and most probably you have already made a list of things you have decided to forego due to time and budget constraints. While there are some things that are traditionally considered mandatory, you sure can choose to give up on the return gift if the budget doesnt allow.
Yes, you cannot forego the traditional thamboolam bag but the other goodies that you would wish to add to it is optional. However, if you have made up your mind to give something to your guests as a token of your appreciation for having graced your Big D, here are some fundamentals to pay attention to to pick the right return gift. It is Optional; Not an Obligation So, you are planning a fun wedding, you have got all the details set but you are still stuck with the return gift.
Remember, that you are already hosting a wedding that includes a lot of joyful activities, breakfast, lunch or dinner. If time and budget doesnt agree, dont stretch yourself to put together the perfect return gift. It is not the end of the world, however, if you really want to do something, pick something small so that it doesnt take up too much time or money to get things together. It could be anything, from a simple thank-you note to a small pack of candies, a keychain or even a scented candle.
It Counts When It is Meaningful If you choose to give a return gift make sure it is meaningful and not something run-of-the-mill. Nowadays, people do so much anyway at their weddings, that it is not really necessary to give something when the guests leave. However, if you have made up your mind, make sure it represents who you are as a person and as a couple and that it adds a little something extra for your loved ones to remember your big day. If you cannot figure it out then dont fret about the return gift and divert that budget to include a new fun activity at your wedding.
A photo-booth anyone? Or what about a mehendi corner or some special activities for the children who accompany their parents? Trust us, if you do that most of the parents attending your event will be really thankful and happy to see their children having fun at a predominantly adult-centric event. Go Green if Possible Yes, everyone is stressing on this point and you are not really being different. However, choosing a green and eco-friendly return gift will at the very least ensure that if it thrown in the trash at some point of time, you are not hurting Mother Nature in the process. For this you could choose anything from saplings, to plants to even ceramic cups and pots that has multi-purpose utility. Make it Useful Dont just pick a wedding return gift that is easily forgotten or thrown away.
When you have chosen to given one at least make sure you choose an item that will serve a definitive purpose. Yes, you would want your guests to remember you and your wedding for some time to come (or even want to be the talk of the town), but that doesnt mean you should buy something that you like but will serve no purpose in your guests household or life. Whatever it is that you choose, be it big or small, make sure it is not just a token of your appreciation but that it is something that will be used or relished and enjoyed by the people who come from far and wide to share in your happiness on your special day. The Longer the Shelf Life the Better Ghee-soaked goodies are nice but they can be cumbersome to pack and also be a hassle for your guests. Moreover, you cannot give sweets to people who are not inclined or in a position to enjoy them.
While edibles are good, make sure they are not too rich that it can make people worry about the health aspects or the shelf life. If you choose sweets do some research to pick ones that will stay fresh and good at least for a few days after your big day. So, if you are all set to make your wedding a bit more memorable for your guests by giving them a goody bag dont forget to add in a note to add a little extra something to it. But do remember that it can all seem doable by yourself in the beginning but as the day of your wedding approaches it will be impossible to do it all on your own, even if you have a large extendable family that is willing to share the load. The right thing to do would be to find the right team of wedding planners to take care of all the finer details, so that you can go about the business of getting ready for one of the most important days of your life. Whether you are planning a destination wedding, beach wedding or a city wedding we can make it the most unforgettable celebration. From decor to return gifts we can take care of it all - let is talk.
