5 Tips for the Perfect Sangeet

Sangeet has become the most awaited part of the wedding. An evening of fun and frolic is what the members of both the families look forward to. Many elements go into the making of a perfect sangeet party. The right decor, the right food and the right kind of entertainment must be the top priority of the sangeet. Here are just a few pointers to help you plan your sangeet.

1) Select your venue:

The venue must be chosen keeping in mind the suitability of both the families. A well-spaced venue must be selected for the dance floor. It can be in a banquet hall or a venue on a beach front or any other location of your choice. The venue must be chosen based of the number of guests that will make it for the sangeet. Also be sure to make sufficient dinner for all the guests.

2) Choose a bright decor:

You can never go wrong with the splash of colours. Vivid hues play a trivial role in brightening the environment and helps get the crowd on their feet. Lanterns that float the sky set a mesmerising ambiance on your special day. Photo booths are 'what's in' this wedding season. You have a wide array of funky photo booths to choose from. Keep the photo booths fun and quirky with a number of props. This creates more excitement for the guests and makes your sangeet a memorable event. Flower decor can also be instigated as part of the decor alongside other decor elements to bring about more elegance. Another trend catching on is the bride-to-be opting for flowers as jewellery. This trend makes the bride-to-be look even more gorgeous.

3) An MC and DJ are an absolute must:

Never ever make the mistake of trying to handle the sangeet on your own. It will get clumsy and will fall apart in the midst on the event. You can hire an MC to entertain the guests or get a lively person from the family, a fun uncle or the friend of the bride to take on the role. Things would be much simpler if you just get an MC. They are good at it. Trust me. A DJ is also an absolute necessity for a party. To set the dance floor on fire get a professional DJ. If your pocket cannot afford a DJ, then download a DJ App on your mobile or laptop and become a DJ yourself. Mixing songs your way is more fun and saves a lot of bucks too.

4) Pre-plan performances:

It would be safer to pre-plan the performances by both sides of the families. Make sure to choose a different set of playlist. It wouldn't be too fun if two groups end up choosing the same number to perform. The most awaited dance number at the sangeet will obviously be the groom with his bride-to-be. So get a choreographer and practice, practice, practice. Other performances can be a hilarious skit on the couple or a song (someone who can actually sing) or spool back with a slideshow of the groom and bride-to-be growing up.

5) Have a wow moment:

A trail-blazing sangeet would definitely have a wow factor. Floating lanterns sent into the sky by every member of the family is the most entertaining and exhilarating part of the night. Lighting the sky with floating lanterns is just the perfect wow factor that creates an enthralling effect to your special night. With the sky filled with the lanterns the scene is set to create memories that will last a life-time.
