ECR Beach Wedding Taj Fisherman's Cove
A Beach & Two weddings - Vivanta Taj Fisherman's Cove
A lovely double wedding by the beach happened at Vivanta Taj Fisherman's Cove in March 2017. We were planning it for over 6 months; you can pick up lots of decor inspirations from this post.
Who wouldn't get excited for a beach wedding or a destination wedding, especially two Tambrahm brides who are getting married on the same day at the same venue?! It was quite a visual treat and an unique personal experience for the entire Marriage Colours team.
Day 1

Day 1: Day 1 began when the guests started landing from early morning and our travel desk team was ready at the airport and at the venue to receive the guests, while the Taj Fisherman's Cove team was incredibly helpful as they made sure that the rooms was ready for all the guests to comfortably check in. Needless to say the travel desk activity started couple of months before, chasing guests for their travel details, visa documents and also planning their additional travel plans, it seemed like a never ending task for Mahesh (Marriage Colours) and Gautham (Fish Cove).
We planned for a holi party with some Gujarati live music, dhol and dhandiya dancers to entertain the guests checking in, the function extending till 5:00 pm. Renjith and Vijna along with their troupe welcomed the evening with Seetha kalyanam, meanwhile we had the destination sangeet set up ready for late evening - honestly one of the best beach sangeeth we have planned with short round tables, divans, Moroccan style lanterns, great family numbers by the guests and it went till late in the night.
Day 2

Day 2: kick started with the both the grooms entering the Machan, Taj Fisherman's Cove in style with their respective best men pedalling the Marigold rickshaws accompanied by boisterous Chenda Melam drummers of Kerala. we had an amazing Oonjal ceremony right on the beach, followed by beach wedding and sumptuous south Indian plantain leaf lunch. Majority of guests were from the UK and other parts of the world and many were having south Indian lunch for the first time. The Taj Fisherman's Cove team made sure they all enjoyed their lunch to the fullest.
While our team lead by Venkat, Joe was busy executing the decor happening at the New beach lawn, while Parithi & Prem made sure that the muhurtham, banquet and return gifts were taken care of seamlessly.
In the evening we had lounge style casual seating with bulbs hanging all over the top while the entire clan was awaiting to welcome the bride and the groom in a painted auto through the brightly decorated lights tunnel! It was an awesome sight to behold. Staccato played some brilliant number to sooth the guests and there was a surprise campfire for all the guests late into the night and the guests spent their time singing and chatting by the sea next to the new beach lawn. Taj Fisherman's Cove is truly an amazing choice for destination wedding cum beach wedding in Chennai.
Day 3

Day 3: In our experience of managing lots of weddings and guided tours, we always have guests showing up late, but this time they were all on time in spite of two long and tiring days.We had lined up 15 odd Tempos and some cars - every tempo was full, in fact even the local guests went to Mahabalipuram bearing the heat. Ram and team ensured that lunch was served at Adyar Ananda bhavan and none of the guests were left out.
Destination wedding beach cricket - Most of the guests were in Mahabs, both the grooms were planning for beach cricket- about 8 teams, tennis balls, we pitched 4 wickets; additional stumps and bats were arranged and it was a colourful sight at the beach; luckily it was also pretty chill, we had the final game planned with some Caribbean style music, water melons, coconuts and chilled beer at the beach near the new beach lawn of Fish cove.
While this was happening, Venkat and Joe were planning for the final day's decoration. The last session was the reception celebrations for the second couple. For this event, the entire lighting was changed, with name cards for the guests on the tables, as the groom made a grand entry in an epic Contessa classic (the groom is a fan of Muscle cars). As a topping on the cake, we also unveiled the couple's portrait in Bollywood style with pyros to boot!!
The night went even wilder with DJ Karan spinning his tunes and the action went till the wee hours of the morning.
Day 4
Day 4: Happy faces, happy guests!! Ready for departure!!! Adios :-)
It was an incredible experience for Team Marriage Colours at the beach wedding in Fisherman's Cove.
As an end note, the speciality about beach weddings in Chennai or beach weddings in ECR, to be precise, is that it has some great properties, Taj Fisherman's Cove is one among them and in fact it is less than 40 minutes from the Airport. The roads are well maintained, the guests also have the option to spend a few days in Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh.
