Ashtamudi Lake, one of Kerala’s most enchanting treasures, stretches over 80 kilometers, its labyrinthine waterways and lush greenery providing a haven of tranquility. This was the setting our clients chose for their daughter Sanjhana and her fiancé Aebel’s engagement, desiring a celebration as unique and memorable as their love story.
Their vision? An engagement ceremony in the heart of the lake, surrounded by the beauty of nature. This sparked an exciting challenge for us: how to transform this dream into a reality. The solution? A 50-foot diameter circular barge, robust enough to accommodate 50 guests, floating serenely on the lake.
Engineering a Dream: The Floating Barge
Creating this floating venue was a feat of engineering and logistics. Months of meticulous planning went into securing permissions, designing the structure, and ensuring its stability and safety. We had to consider the lake’s ecosystem, the local boat traffic, and the comfort of the guests.
The barge itself was a marvel, constructed with a keen eye for both aesthetics and functionality. It was a testament to the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our team, who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.
A Celebration Like No Other
The anticipation was palpable, not just from the guests and families but also from our team. In our 13 years of creating breathtaking events, we’ve always pushed the boundaries of creativity, embracing the “never seen before, never thought before, never done before” philosophy. As night fell, the barge, illuminated with twinkling lights, was docked on the shore. The couple then made a grand exit, walking along an elevated pathway towards the beautifully decorated helipad, where the garland exchange and further festivities continued.

Over a period of two days, from a vibrant Haldi ceremony by the poolside to a lively carnival leading to the pier, a Sangeet filled with music and dance, and the traditional Madhuram Veppu ceremony, every detail was meticulously planned and executed.
For days after the celebration, we were inundated with messages and calls expressing awe and appreciation. People were captivated by the uniqueness of the concept, the seamless execution, and the sheer beauty of it all. It became the talk of the town, a testament to the power of creativity and innovation.
